10mm vs 13mm Weightlifting Belt

Belt thickness changes how a belt feels. A thicker belt usually feels stiffer, while a thinner belt usually feels easier to break in and move with.

10mm belts

10mm is the most common custom belt starting point. It gives a firm feel without being as demanding to break in as a thicker belt.

13mm belts

13mm is firmer and more specialised. Many lifters choose it when they already know they prefer a very stiff belt.

6.5mm belts

6.5mm is more flexible and easier to wear. It can suit general strength training, higher movement variety, and lifters who do not want a very stiff belt.

If you are unsure

Most customers should start by choosing the belt style first, then thickness. If you are unsure, contact us before ordering.

A lifting belt is training equipment, not injury prevention.
